About Nathan

Nathan Wolliston is a man of family, faith, and community. Nathan has called Windsor his home for over 16 years, and in 2024 he became a proud homeowner in the same neighborhood he was raised in. Nathan is running for Connecticut State Senate because he believes the people of the 7th district deserve representation that reflects their values and fights for them. As State Senator, Nathan will work for future generations through investment in education & environmental protections, while also caring for our elders in nursing homes and those aging in place with caregivers.

As one of ten siblings, Nathan is a proud family man and son of immigrants from Jamaica. He’s a proud husband to his wife Dana who is extremely supportive of his commitment to his community. Professionally, he manages new business as a specialist for one of the fastest growing insurance companies in Connecticut, and has worked closely with State Representative Maryam Khan, helping her develop, analyze, and implement policy at the State Legislature. He has also previously worked in support of people with disabilities as a residential program worker at Oak Hill group home. Nathan is an active member of Living Word Empowerment Ministries, and plays Electric Guitar in his church band.

Nathan has been interested in politics since the age of 10, when he saw the United States vote for its first Black president in Barack Obama. Nathan was inspired not only by the campaign but by his local community’s positive reception to the change, and felt very blessed to live in this part of Connecticut. He first ran for Windsor’s Board of Education in 2021, and has since been reelected in 2023. During his tenure, he has worked for the students, parents, and educators in his community with a deep sense of responsibility, service, and inspiration.

Nathan intends to bring the same work ethic and collaborative spirit that his community raised him with to Connecticut’s State Legislature, giving the people of the 7th district the transparent, responsive, and bold leadership that they deserve.
